So again...other than the 3 of us who have confirmed that they have tickets, who else is going? I know Vaughan is a huge Judas Priest fan. What about the rest of the Perth Christian Metal Crew?

they're playing, literally, 2 miles away from me in august at a tiny little nightclub that can only hold a few hundred people....I wonder why that is?

Well last time they played here they played in a significantly smaller venue... although they did have Owens.

last time they played here...they played in an arena and Queensryche was opening up for them...now Metal Church is opening up for them at this show and Testament is apparently going to play here on July 31st.

Opening for them here is Cavalera Conspiracy and an Australian thrash band called Daysend, who I had a quick listen to on Myspace and they aren't too bad.

Cavalera Conspiracy will be interesting to see, but I fear they will bring the wrong type of people to the gig.

The mosh pit will be insane. I think I'll be perfectly justified standing way up the back in this case

I'm actually thinking about skipping Cavalera Conspiracy... or at least standing up near the sound desk....

hanging back by the sound booth is the place place to be for a lot of metal shows, the sound is a million times better due to where the PA speakers are placed, how they are angled and how far away from them the booth actually is....it forms a neat little apex of sound that is the absolute best place to be at for any show....unless the sound guy doesn't know what he's doing or sucks....then hang out at the front of the stage.

I have decided that for Priest at least I want to be so close that I can smell the diesel after Halford drives in on his Harley . After that I'll get the heck outta there and move further back so I don't get killed.

Of course I'm going. I have gold standing tickets.
Cavalera Conspiracy will crank. Inflikted is a great album, plus they'll play all the Sepultura classics like Territory and Roots Bloody Roots.

I would like to go but doubt i will have the cash unfortunately.
I had to miss wasp earlier on this year for the same reason but at least i got to see Ozzy Osbourne back in march..
Thats the trouble with living on the east coast now because everyone comes here you need like a grand set aside per annum just to make sure you can see everyone lol.

you're complaining that TOO MANY of your favourite bands tour each year?!?? lol.
Case in point - Satriani is touring Australia again soon. or should I say, touring Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne before ignoring the rest of the whole country and scurrying off home.

oh btw, my ticket arrived in the mail today . It came with a receipt attached to it which I have no idea if I'm to keep it attached or not. Also it says something about free transperth travel...I have no idea how that works.
