well my BC RICH beast has many but it is a pain in the butt to play due to it be weighted improperly by the manufacturer of the guitar..

I'm a big fan of solid normal bodies but I'm not a fan of Ibanez guitars or Gibsons...I do have an Epiphone Les Paul only cause the design is awesome and it's got a nice blues tone. My favorite guitars are these rare electrics made by Alvarez (a Korean company) I'll post some pics of the cool designed ones I have and if I can find some of my customized one. Here's my Alvarez "Scoop" guitar with Dana active pickups Here's my second "Scoop" in Red with DiMarzio passive pickups And my current mostly played Alvarez Dana II customized with Dave Mustaine sig Pickups, a custom pickguard and a older model floyd rose:

why would the body be scooped just under the neck pickup placement? Would that not lend the neck to suffer breakage/misalignment if it were accidentally dropped or even the strap buttons became stripped and the guitar plummeted to the floor in a grandiose towshend fashion?

Well surprisingly the Scoop is VERY stable by the Cut. The designer made sure to properly portion the weight and everything in that part so it's actually VERY stable and is not fragile at all. What's fragile is that the neck's that were used are a lil to thin on the top so when you have lockbolts (like me) the bolts that hold the top portion make the neck a lil fragile to crackage at teh top where the two bolts would go in...Thankfully I'm not too clumsy with them and they'll definitely last. Now the reason behind the design is that apparently the space between the neck pickup and the strings causes some loss of sustain and tone and the designer designed around removing this section and the guitars have a LOT of natural sustain as well as amazing tone and playability...it's wierd my main guitar with the Mustain Pickups (3rd picture) is AWESOME but it's a little hard to do solos on it cause of the way the neck is. Meanwhile the Scoops are amazingly easy to solo on and sound great for shredding. I also got each guitar for under $250 US

Ah, I get it now. The Scoop bit accommodated your fingers, so thats why the solos are easy up there. Heh, took me a while
