I am currently living on a missions base in Brasil (as many of you know- I am sure). Thus, as you would expect, I have spent a lot of time in prayer sessions, sermons and missions based meetings. In short, I have heard a lot of messages lately. Some have really touched me, while others have not helped me in my efforts to beat the effects of a lack of sleep! (No, I haven't fallen asleep in any of them yet)! I was wondering if you guys wanted to share any particularly powerful messages you have heard or seen recently (or not)! I guess we will have to summarise the points but I would really like to hear from you guys about some important messages/ sermons. I will post my own summary soon... Rock on!

I need to post an example now, I finally have 5 mins to do it so... Sorry I can't summarise it more, but hey, this is the first one, right?
Based on Psalm 23, a message I just heard was really awesome. This was given by a lady who fairly recently, suddenly and (very) unexpectedly, lost her husband. To hear her speaking of God's power, faithfulness and promises was such a powerful testimony.
We so often waste time, effort and emotions over things that are not necessary- really, God is ALL we need. He is our King, our Father, our provider, our shepherd... He is so much to us. V2: He provides REST for us. Like sheep, we can only really rest when we are secure, feel safe, when we are not hungry, peaceful. God brings us these things so that we can have a chance and a place to rest. --> Jesus. v3: God RESTORES us. When we have fallen and can't get up ourselves, God pushes us. He lifts us up. When we have lost hope, He gives it. He corrects our paths. (Not always the most fun part, but God helps us nonetheless). v3: God GUIDES us, he leads, brings, guides us, helps us. When a shepherd decides to move his flock to a better, new pasture, he leads and the flock follows. We as Christians need to be listening for God's call to move, and be ready to move when he asks. v4: He teaches DEPENDENCE. As we travel we go thru many tough and dangerous situations... We are not alone. God is with us. We don't have to worry or fear with him by our sides. v5: God PROVIDES for us. He is a gracious host, a provider for those who are devoted to him. One of his greatest gifts is JOY! See also Eph 3:10. He is generous to overflowing. v6: He leads us HOME. We shall live with him forever. Our salvation means that we will spend eternity with him.
We need to deal with aspects in our lives: -Get back to the basics of God- don't overcomlicate our lives. -Be silent before God. Listen- hear him speak. We get to know him better when we listen -Devotional time- one that works 4 u. It helps us to grow. Psalm 46:10- be still and know that I am God... God is all we need!
Sorry it is so long, but an awesome message anyhow!
