I love this song!!! Dragonforce are am excellent band. They have so much power and energy, but still have so much melody and musicality. Anyway, this song is prob my fave on the 'Sonic...' album, what do you guys think of the lyrics?
3. Fields Of Despair
[Music: Herman Li, Sam Totman, Lyrics: Herman Li, Sam Totman]
Can you feel the pain inside sometimes in my mind? In the land of loneliness the seas of blood run cold Is the feeling lost inside within the sins of all mankind? Time after time we stood united on we go
Fly far away don't let the world pass you by Live for the day when we must stand and survive Now we face the judgment day our souls will feel the pain Hear the screams of my world through the rain
Silent fields of despair my tears in the rain Pain in my heart bleeding through One day we'll be back for one moment in time Endlessly searching for you...
Who can cure my emptiness inside for this time? Suffering from loneliness my dreams and hopes will die No more feelings left inside my blackened heart I cannot hide Time after time our souls divided on we cry
Fly far away don't leave your own past behind Live for the day another year passes by Now we turn to face our fear there's nothing more to say Still your dreams and my nightmares remain
Silent fields of despair my tears in the rain...
[Solos - Vadim / Sam / Vadim / Sam & Herman / Herman]

Asks questions but gives no answers....
I don't think Dragon Force's lyrics are anything special

Pfft, no-one listens to Dragonforce for the lyrics, thats like listening to Yngwie for the drumming..
What I really love about Dragonforce is the guitars. Dang, those guys can SHRED!! I mean look at that song, how can any song contain FIVE solos and not be the coolest song ever?!

Can dragonforce write a bad solo? Their songs on myspace were pretty dazzling...

Maybe they'll get it right on their 4th album

I bought their demo when they first hit the scene in 99, i'm special, in a retarded fanboy sort of way.

I think the real question is can Dragonforce write a good song? perhaps a better question would be this one Dan "Can Dragonforce write a song that doesn't sound like the rest of their songs?

AWWWWWWW!!! C'mon guys.... I thought this was a lyrics thread. If it was a music thread I'd have posted the tabs for Fields... I just think the lyrics are pretty wild. (Ok, so the chorus doesn't quite make sense- the mixing up of tenses)... But while it is a pretty sobering/ serious subject, it amazes me how uplifting and empowering the song is in all. (Obvious link to the wild guitars etc etc)... I guess I've had such a difficult year so far, so I really love listening to KsE and DF stuff- because it is so empowering and energising... Man- I also can't believe everyone is payin' out on DF! What gives??? lol

I mostly dislike DF because in America they have been shoved down everybody's throat, much the same way that Slipknot was in the late 90's. Suddenly overnight every kid who though he was into metal had a dragonforce T shirt on. Then you had to fight the hordes of fans who would then misuse words like progressive, technical, and true metal.

Sounds like the 'Metallica' phenomenon here. Anyone who 'likes' metal or is a 'metalhead' (but actually only likes one heavy band)- it's always Metallica. they are the pop culture default metal band here...
