You know what to do.
Messiah Prophet. If you can ever find the album Master of the Metal for a decent price... get it!

I think there is one undisputed champion of hair metal it would be a travesty not to suggest here...
I speak of course, of our very own -who doubtless established this thread in full knowledge of the inevitable ego-boost- ironguardian.

Well I actually started it so I could ram it down Zooba's throat that Messiah Prophet is a good band... but I like your reason better Next July, when our friend from Belgium comes to visit, he wants to get his hair done up with me, and record a hair metal song and video clip... just for a good laugh So we'll be getting our falsettos all warmed up

Rage of Angels - www.myspace.com/rageofangelstheband You might have heard of these guys from one of many old compilations. Rage od Angels are seriously one of the best classic metal bands in the world. Its such a shame the only recorded one album, and a short one at that.

Marillion? Isn't that the same name as another rock band? Same spelling too I think.

There's also Regime, which recently had a compilation released by Retroactive Records

Regime was to Stryper what Hollywood Rose was to Guns 'n' Roses right?

Regime had Rick Hunter from Soldier in it (Rowlie, you've probably got a Soldier track or two on those 80s compilations you have). I've heard that people think it's generic, but I really like it! He's a killer guitarist -the Retroactive reissue had a number of part re-recorded -often with added guitar solos. Live tracks sound 'orrible quality wise, but a worthy purchase for the glam metalhead. Top tracks: Straight Thru Your Heart, Borderline, Castles in the Sand and the awesome power ballad Give Back Your Heart.
