pick your product, why do you like it, why don't you like it? blah blah blah
since i started the thread, I shall talk to you about my most recent purchase yesterday.....
Line6 Product: Pocket POD
Pros: three amp head models and one 4x12 cab model that caught my attention but didn't make an impression on me overall.
amp sims
Treadplate: be careful with the high end and use the noise gate on this noisy simulator.
Modern High Gain: warm and has a lot of low end to it but to the point of being really muddy again, use the noise gate on this noisy sim as well.
and
Line 6 INSANE: too many mids will kill this sound for you. use noise gate on this noisy sim too...
cab sims
British Hi Gain 4x12 #3 [has the best sounding dynamics out of all of the cab sims to my ears]. The most punch and clarity with the amp sims listed above.
effects
noise gate: essential since all of the amp sims are freaking SUPER NOISY to the point of being unbearable.
Cons: everything else, including the $99.00 price of it...and it didn't come with the USB cable [which was listed as being with it] or a power supply [which is optional]...it otherwise runs on 4AAA batteries. The guitar input is on the left side [what the hell?!] and the output is on the right side [again i ask, what the hell?!] it is completely backwards as far as a set up is concerned and very hard, almost impossible, to incorporate into your existing setup even as a cab simulator.
I'll probably never use this after buying it yesterday, I just cannot get a decent tone out of this thing at all. Luckily i didn't waste $500.00 on the other POD i was considering getting. It has just way too much of an organically FLAT tone. No sounds jump out at me at all, but the three i listed above are okay..
