This weekend I've made some serious headway into the recording of the next album. I'm doing this one largely at home, so there are some experimental aspects to the process. However, I know I can make an album, it's really just a case of the final quality. It will be what it will be, because I intend on improving over a series of home recorded albums.
Recording albums here saves literally thousands of dollars and virtually guarantees a new GF album every year. It's a good challenge to get my teeth stuck into and I'm loving every minute of it!

After some discussions last night, we may be recording more of the album with Dan Holmes (producer of our last 3 albums) than we originally thought. Stay tuned, I reckon this one is gonna top Fight To The Death.

Simon just contributed the final piece of the puzzle, an epic called Kill Your Idols. Next step is to bounce all the guide tracks and get them off to the studio. Gonna be a pretty intense couple of months of tracking. I really can't wait. The songs sound terrific, and I just know they will be awesome in full production mode.

Simon just contributed the final piece of the puzzle, an epic called Kill Your Idols. Just so long as its not a Static-X cover, haha.

As far as I'm aware it is an original!

I forgot that Static-X even had a song called Kill Your Idols, so I can honestly say it isn't.

Since starting this thread, the whole plan has changed! I'm thrilled to say we will be recording the whole thing at Fattdog Studio with Dan Holmes. Can't wait to get started!

Started recording the album last night with Dan. We worked on 2 songs. The first track we started is called "Reap What You Sow", and the second is called "End Of Days". Simon, Elias and myslef were out there, and I can tell you we had an absolute blast. It's looking like Monday night will be recording night for the next couple of months.
Naturally I keep this forum updated with our progress!

The aim is to get the Fight To The Sound in the This Day Forth timeframe. This Day was recorded very quickly, whereas we poured over every detail on Fight To The Death. Striking a balance between the 2 is what I'm looking for.

Recorded a brand spanking new song called Victory Or Death last night. Irongruardian was on hand and assisted with the gang vocals. It was a really fun session. The song song has been described as Grave Forsaken meets Running Wild. It's certainly energetic, and it has a big catchy chorus just the way we like 'em!

Aw, not that Ironguardian guy . . . I've heard he's a bit difficult to deal with

Yeah, the demands he made just to get him into the vocal booth. It would have been easier to negotiate a Pink Floyd reunion than work with that guy.
