The 1st day in the studio was excellent. A very successful day!! The drums are completed but I am going to change 1 thing in one of the songs tomorrow after listening to the rough cd tonight. Pretty much all the bass is done apart from a couple touch ups that need doing and 1 rythm track on guitar has been done. If all goes well we will have 8 songs on the demo but 1 of them is a 2 minute instrumental which is opening up the album and I think is a BIG highlight. Seriously, 1 of my favourite songs we have ever written. Besides that, we only wrote the song a couple weeks ago at the most and only rehearsed it 3 or 4 times and we recorded it all in 1 take. Pretty amazing Can't wait to hear the end result, I think we have improved a huge amount on our song writing since the first album. Anyways, will let you know how tomorrow goes after we have finished the day. EDIT: Here's some photos from todays recording session-

hmm, I don't recognise the guitar Todd is using. Speaking of which, does he ever use that awesome blue lightning guitar that he spent that obscenely large amount of money on? I've only ever seen him pull it out at one gig and then he only used it for like one song before switching back. Not that it matters too much, of course, I'm just curious....

Zooba, it got stolen from his car, along with his V shaped one.
Glad things are going well Dave.

I don't think they were insured, which sucks. The V guitar was the one which Todd got signed by Mick Jelenic

Yeah bummer bout Toad's guitars. It almost caused a problem because 1 of Todd's strings snapped during recording today and he had to take one off his other guitar. He only has the 2 guitars now so if that snapped we would of been stuffed, but that didn't happen. We have had a AWESOME 2nd day in the studio. All the music is now completed apart from the vocals and then mixing/mastering. Next Sunday we are going to do half the vocals and then mixing for the rest of the day and then finish the rest of the vocals and mixing next monday. For a demo this is going to be excellent I think. It is MUCH better than the debut album I believe. There will be 8 songs on the album, 1 is a instrumental and 2 have my Mum singing backing vocals in some parts. I hope you guys like it as much as I do Like everything, things can always be improved but being a demo I have just let some little things go with the drums. Overall, I am pretty pleased so far. Will let you know how things go when we get in the studio next Sunday.

The "album" is finished ;D Yeah, 8 songs is basically a album. The thing is, we have spent hardly anytime in the studio so we are saying "demo" because otherwise people are going to expect this high production, months in the studio, very professional album. It has gone very well though!! I will get a couple of the songs up on myspace when I can. For 4 days in the studio it has come across very well I think. We can't afford to get the album pressed for a few weeks yet so copies won't be available just yet sorry. Will let you know when its available. Todd's vocals are a bit different on this album compared to the first. The vocals are a bit more like Immortal Souls on the new album. Hard to describe but hope you guys like the change.

3 songs are now up on the myspace page. www.myspace.com/scourgedfleshThe quality is alot better on the cd because I had to export the songs into a crap program to convert them to mp3 because myspace only allows mp3 format. Still, it gives you guys a idea of the songs before you hear the cd. Listening to the album sounds alot better than myspace so don't make too many decisions of the album from the myspace songs. The 3 songs are: Pit Of Doom( 2 minute Instrumental) Burnt Alive Judgment Returns( my Mum does some backing vocals) Let us know what you guys think

Well if MySpace sounds bad in comparison, the demo must absolutely slay.

I see what you mean by the instrumental sounding like Obituary. It surely is a killer couple of minutes. I think its too good to be left as an instrumental.
But it will be a great way to open your stump set.

But it will be a great way to open your stump set. yeah man, I love the Instrumental. Todd actually had some lyrics for the song that he had quickly written but I didn't want it to have vocals. Obituary have a few Instrumentals and I wanted this song to have the same feel as their Instrumentals. Don't know if we pulled it off but I still like it. Yes, we will be opening up Stump with "Pit Of Doom".

Well if MySpace sounds bad in comparison, the demo must absolutely slay. idon't think the myspace sounds bad in comparison. it is close to the cd quality but it sounds a bit crackly and distorted on myspace. Overall it comes across alot better on cd than on the uploaded songs. You will know what I mean when you hear the proper album.
