Ancient Burial is fantastic.. very different feel to the rest of the album... Would have sounded better with my semi-operatic vocals still on it Heh, man they were awful!!

^^^ Thanks Brent, glad you like EP mate. We really appreciate your support!! Those opera vocals were classic Iron. Almost as good as those pig grunts at the end. ;D hahahahahaha. Good as gold. They weren't that bad mate. They probably just didn't match the song. I got a good laugh out of it though so thats a bonus.

Well, I aim to please you Dave... no other aim in life I'm listening to it now. Sounds very good. I'm going to have to get a few more copies off you.

got mine today (cheers heaps dave). Gave it a quick spin at work. Sounds good. Will have to give it a serious listen though, as I was busy when it was on.
*Edit: Ok, I've now listened to it 2 more times, once again at work, which I'll get too in a sec, and once at home. KILLER!!!
Anyway, when I listened to it again at work, one of my co-workers came out and heard it, and asked who it was. He then heard the death growls, and said "Thats Sai-tanic" (his words, not a miss-spell. We know what he means though). He based all of this on a documentary that was on Foxtel.
I didn't really set him straight, I just told him that I don't listen to satanic stuff (true). I did, however, tell him that not all death growls are satanic. I did mention stuff that I know about Mayhem, the black metal scene, and junk like that, but I don't think that he was really convinced. Maybe tomorrow I'll play a whole heap of Mortification, or the SF stuff... then I'll debate it proper.. ;D

^^ ;D Thanks for the support and encouragement guys. Glad you like the tunes. It doesn't suprise me that people might think its satanic. ;D I know a few people, mainly at my church, who think all forms of heavy metal etc.. are evil/satanic. Exodus, definitely show your friend at work Mort and even the first SF album "RFD". Very evangelical death metal, not even remotely evil.haha.

Actually, I did play some Mort the next day, but when it all comes down to it, the style of music just isn't his cup of tea.. which is fair enough.

Yeah, sadly not enough people appreciate it.

Most people just dont understand what is even going on. All they hear is noise. It takes awhile to familiarize yourself with extreme metal.

I once played the Blood Drift EP in class and some people just didn't know it was possible for a human being to do that with a voice

Heheh yeah, when I first showed Fearscape to my pastor, he asked if it was electronically distorted. I just told him that it took Matt 9 years to be albe to scream like that I was giving him an education, as he wanted one, for a few reasons. We listened to a variety of metal at a low volume so we could pick out different parts and talk about them. Metal is good loud, but when its softer you can pick up so much more of the subtlties the band has included. It went really well and prepared him for Grave Forsaken at my birthday party, which he loved, but only because he had been exposed to it before and knew what to look out for once the vo;ume got cranked up.

I once had Horde playing before music practice at church one sunday, and a guy, who really doesn't like metal/rock/etc.... LOVED it (I think. He certainly didn't call it rubbish or anything).
I wasn't playing it (super) loud, but all those who heard it seemed to have liked it...

yeah Horde is weird like that. Back when Buddy and I were first getting into Black Metal I hated Horde at first because I didnt know what I was listening for. But man Buddy who had never heard black metal before LOVED IT!!!!!! He bought the CD after only hearing one sample!

actually, it hasn't only been until recently (we're talking within the last 2 years or so) that I have been able to appreciate the growled vocals. I bought Living Sacrifice's Reborn back when it was released and I hated it, coz of the growling. Which is probably why I prefer the clean vocal styling, but whatever.
It took the insistance of a (different) co-worker to get me to listen to it, as he kept trying to get me to listen to Children of Bodom (Follow the Reaper and Hate Crew Deathroll), as his words were "ignore the vocals, and just listen to the music," which I eventually did, and by doing that, I learned to appreciate the growling, as I wasn't concentrating too much on it. It also helped that I was driving the work van while listening to it, so I was also concentrating on the road.
Nowadays, I can handle the growls, but I've also occassionally gotten to the point of overload, and had to listen to some really wussy pop..... please don't hate me, or make me hand in my metal card... I promise I'll play some death metal really loud...
